Chic Urban style
R O S A focuses its young brand culture on strong environmental values, with materials and manufacturing processes that are sustainable and respectful of the planet.
In practice, this translates into the use of recycled materials (such as SEAQUAL® YARN or Newlife, fabrics made from recycled plastic recovered from the oceans) and new natural fibres (Ecovero, Tencel products derived from sustainable wood and pulp), coming from certified and controlled sources — brands for which we hold the certificates licenses of use.
It also translates into the use another fibres plants such as bamboo, aloe vera, orange trees or algae. All the brands we collaborate with are certified: OEKO-TEX Made in Green and Standard 100, BCI Better Cotton Initiative.
R O S A's artistic vision is based on unique items, exclusively sold online — unlike today's mass production.
There are no two identical pieces; the idea of a single object prevails. In the same logic, when an accessory is produced in a small series, each one will be identified with a serial number.
The rhythm of production and sales will be once every two weeks, and shipments will be concentrated once a week.
R O S A will collaborate with guest artists (for the creation of specific collections, and for the production of promotional videos and photographs) as well as with other seamstresses, friends and colleagues of Rosa, who will each bring their sartorial know-how and expertise.
Our Family History
ROSA
started sewing at a very young age: her initial customers were her dolls, for whom she made her first creations. At the age of 12, she began her apprenticeship as a seamstress. She acquired her know-how from the age of 16 years, at the workshop of Miss Elisa, in her hometown of Pataias: there she truly learned the techniques.
Since then, Rosa has been designing and making clothes for clients, family and friends alike, for all ages, from layette to haute couture, from wedding dresses to ceremonial costumes... a passion that she has been exercising professionally for more than 50 years.
TIAGO
is an artist by training. He has lived and worked throughout Europe: curator in museums in Spain, photographer at architecture agencies in Switzerland and Paris and for different collections of contemporary art.
As a child, he loved to draw near Rosa while she sewed. From scraps of fabric, he in turn made little bags, which he then sold to customers in his mother's workshop: when they asked what he wanted to do later, he invariably answered: stylist - to design clothes that his mother would make.
A few years later, that moment arrived : mother and son decided to pool their creativity, and Rosa's technical know-how, her eye for cutting, materials and tailoring, with Tiago's sketches and artistic direction.
A family duo, making exclusive, individual pieces, true works of art, benefiting from a high quality of design, materials and finishes.
Unique collections, designed in Paris, produced in Portugal, with the quality of materials and the immense know-how of craftsmanship.
